My notebook is tucked between my arm and body as I step gingerly into the boat. Sara Sanders, owner and creator of Goat Island Treasure Boxes, cordially offers her hand to steady me - I suppose I don’t seem the outdoorsy type - but I make it onto the vessel, writing utensils and all. It’s a clear, blue morning, the kind where we pass by lots of other boats after departing the dock at Morgan Creek Grill on the Isle of Palms.....

Sarah Sanders took trash from her best friend’s frame shop in Mount Pleasant and began creating some boxes out of the discarded frames. Her line of Goat Island Treasure Boxes is now sold in the South Carolina State Capitol souvenir shop.
